Stop Living Someone Else's Dream, Live Your Own!

With a few dozen stage performances to my credit, even before reaching the age of 16, I had always wanted to be an actor. However, being slightly better than the average in studies, I became an Engineer -- fulfilling my parent's dream.

Yes, I ended up following my parent's decision and living their dream, not my own! But, I don't blame them, because, had I been in their place, I would have done the same.

I cried, I begged, but my Mom, being a Tiger Mother, remained focused on making me an Engineer which happened to be a golden career not so long ago.

Mother's Last Conversation with Me: Two Drops of Tears!

She is gone. Yes, my mother has finally left this world. She died a fortnight ago, and I'm yet to come to terms with the fact that she would never pick my call on her cell phone and say, ' Hey son, all well?

Last time she spoke to me was a day before she fell unconscious. She said, 'Come soon to see me for the last time. I won't live long.' She appeared very weak, but cheerful as always. ' She never regained her consciousness, as she had a heart attack the following day along with severe kidney ailment.

Never Let Your Hope Die A Premature Death

All of us live for a purpose: The purpose of life -- sometime clear, sometime not; sometime achievable, sometime not. But, we continue our journey with a hope and it's that hope which defines our quality of life.

Hope is the biggest motivator towards achieving success in living a purposeful life. When you dump your hope, you get reduced to a creature living just for the sake of it.

Hey God, Let Me be Her Son, Again!

Mother and Child Reunion

I don’t blame my father for putting up with my maternal grandfather, who was staying alone, as his only son - a MRCP Doctor from UK - was settled in a distant place and it was not possible for him to relocate to native place.

Rapists Must be Hanged Until Death!

What are the rules of a so called human society, pertaining to the punishment framed out by the constitution of a democratic set up, for dealing with criminals who undertake the shameless and barbaric act of raping the woman?

The answer is very simple: Law Enforcement agencies would catch the culprit/s, sometime, and try him/them out through a well-defined set of legal proceeding extending over several years. Often, accused are set free because of lack of evidence.Even if convicted, they would come out of the jail after a few years and.....

Driving on the Highway of Life!

It's been 3 months, since I stopped writing. All I do, these days, is to pick up an article that I had written long ago - part of a whopping 300 articles written over a period of 3 years - and republish the same.

There seems to be a kind of blockhead in my brain, a strange feeling of emptiness, surrounding the whole existence that defines my own, telling me what I hate to acknowledge: I'm finished as a writer!

Never Let 'HOPE' Vanish from Your Life!

Hold onto IT!

Don't let IT slip away from your life, even if its sharp corner is piercing through your flesh, digging deeper and deeper inside your bones.

Learn to endure unbearable pains, absorb unbelievable shocks and erase the slightest traces of tears from your eyes, but never let IT vanish from your mind.

The Power of Emotion!

Emotion, if expanded in the right direction and for the right cause, is the key to success in life. I'm not talking about the success of having retired as the CEO of a company but building your own and living it too.

I believe that emotion is the driving force that can truly inspire you to look beyond the realm of reality, and help you achieve the impossibles in life. I believe that positive emotion can help you overcome the burden of reality that common people are overburdened with.

Wake up the Sleeping Giant within!

Today I was watching a program on TV, reconstructing the survival story of three people who lost their direction while finishing off a remote island.

Frantically searching for their base, unsuccessfully though, they exhausted boat's fuel and with great difficulties somehow managed to reach a rocky and isolated part of the island.

Preview: Life And Thoughts of A Warrior -- The Path of Fire!

Read the Preview of my latest E-book, which has been published on Amazon Kindle store, and click on the following link to buy and download it from Amazon website: Life And Thoughts of A Warrior.

Life And Thoughts of A Warrior

Every time, the black clouds of pains gathered across my mind, I would write an article, flushing the agonies out of my system and breathing in fresh air of hopes for a better future, inspiring self for keeping the fights on.

Those notes, written over a period of 3 years - those 3 years of unbelievable fight against destiny's torture - highlight my helplessness and also the determination. Hundreds of them, truly reflecting, what I had gone through, are now being edited to come out as a book.

If my story of pains, agonies and the determination to refuse giving up can save even a single soul from succumbing to life's struggle, I would be the happiest person on planet earth.

Social Intelligence: Key to Success for HR Professionals

He called up and desperately, requesting me to look for an immediate placement for him as he has already been serving the notice period. He is the same person whom I have been repeatedly calling up for past several months, but in vein. He never bothered to pick up my calls, neither called back. Simply put, he refused to maintain a decade old relationship while riding the success wave.

Another professional, who would always give me an appointment, but would refuse to meet at the last moment , not once but several times, demonstrates a weird behavior that needs detailed analysis to identify the root cause of such an irrational approach. Ideally, when you're not interested to meet someone, the best way is to let him know it outright instead of agreeing first and then aborting it at the last moment.

Never Stop Trying to be Extraordinary!

What is extra-ordinary-ship?

Is it something beyond the reach of ordinary people?

Not really! Because, most of the extraordinary people are basically ordinary and at some point in time, they, willingly, and supported by the pull of destiny, zoom past ordinary-ship.

What inspires them to undertake this journey and complete it successfully?

The answer is: A dream of making it big in life! However, never forget that it's not just about dreaming big, but a lot of result-oriented actions that ultimately govern the outcome in terms of turning a dream into reality.

Choice is yours!

If you're cornered today, it's your own making: A wrong decision, a wrong assumption, or no decision at all on a few important issues, that you had made several years ago.

You can still convert the consequences to your advantage, if you stop regretting over what's not changeable any more and focus on deriving the best out the worst possible situations.

If you can't, you deserve to be falling in love with fatal frustrations and failures that will eventually lead to a complete destruction of self and your near and dear ones who're dependent on you.

Choice is yours!

Get Me Some Food!

The other day, while doing some shopping, along with my family members, when a poor fellow asked me for some donation, I said, 'I wouldn't give you cash, what else you want?'

He looked at me and said, 'Sir, get me some food.'

I, then, took him to a near by Dhaba and bought a few rotis and sabji for him, and handed the same over.

He, with the packet in hand, started moving away quickly.

Perplexed, I asked him, 'why don't you eat your food here?' '

'My children first, Sir!' He replied and vanished, without waiting for my response.

Tears came to my eyes and I regretted not buying him another packet.

It cost me just 30 rupees, but, for him, it appeared to be another chance of seeing the smiling face of his hungry children.

How Criticism Inspired Me Perform Better!

More than 3 decades ago, I cleared my 12th board examination with 8 grace marks in English. Despite scoring pretty well in science subjects, which ultimately ensured my admission to an elite engineering college ( NIT, Nagpur), my overall grade in XIIth board was drastically down due this pathetic performance in English.

Frankly speaking, I had a great disliking for English during the formative years of life and never attempted to make any improvement even. I used to be so poor in spoken English, that, during my Engineering college days, I had always avoided mixing up with college-mates who were local Englishmen, I mean English speaking classmates.

Well, destiny had something else in mind for me. After passing out from the college, when I failed to write a job application in English, leading to a group of friends laughing at me in front of many others, I, for several hours, wept uncontrollably, but then, I decided to do something about it.

Don't Hide, Be Your True-Self

Like or don't like: Success in professional life is always evaluated in terms of your compensation, if you are an employee; and the turn-over of the company that you own, if you are an entrepreneur.

"Hey Abhijit, that guy got a new job with this much salary, why don't you get me something like that," is the most common dialogue in any conversation that I normally have with senior levels professionals from Corporate India.

A Volcanic Eruption of Corporate Ego!!!

First of all, let me thank those professional friends from Corporate India, who keep encouraging me to highlight some of the business issues pertaining to talent management.

I'm neither a seasoned writer nor a management expert, but my objective of writing these blogs is to share with my readers -- some of the issues, both in professional and personal domains of life, that truly deserve a brain-storming.

Yesterday, in the evening, while talking to the VP-HR of a multinational company, which has recently undergone a global restructuring, when I, unaware of the final structure, casually made a remark about his reporting matrix, he got extremely annoyed and told me to avoid making such statements without knowing the facts.

Inspirational Lie!

If there is a will, there is a way: A plain lie, it is, highly inspirational though. Accept or not, but at some point of time in your own life -- you too must have realized it.

I agree, inspirational quotes, particularly the above one, surely boost our moral to work hard toward achieving certain goals and objectives, but, we must also realize, that the net result is invariably influenced by a few other factors; most of them, beyond our control.

Detached Attachment!

A deep sense of attachment to every relationship and the activities we carry out, is the root cause of our unhappiness. I'm taking about emotional attachment, which is different than emotional commitment.

When you erase the sense of attachment from your mind and soul, expectations from efforts remain zero. When you do your Karma with no expectation, positive results make you happy but negative outcomes never affect your mental equilibrium.

Counter Loneliness!

Who isn't lonely, many may deny the fact though; who isn't lonely, even if surrounded by a hundred also?

In fact, we are lonely, as long as we deny the fact and do nothing about it.

The fact, however, is, that, we can come out of this loneliness when we start thinking about and acting on making others feel otherwise.

Fighting Spirit

Who doesn't struggle in life, but how successfully one endures destiny's torture up until making it happen is what truly reflects the fighting spirit.

Success is all about enduring the worst period of life, without changing your course. The deciding factor between success and failure is self confidence.

Is Your Organization System Driven? If not, Quit Immediately

The purpose of a system is to design the rules of the game, so as to ensure that the show must go on in accordance with a specific set of activities defined for a particular role in any organization.

In nutshell, it means, even if someone is on leave the work doesn't suffer, as the other person who takes over his place is guided by a well-defined set of procedures regarding all the activities pertaining to that role.

Destiny's Torture: Celebration Time!

"Hi Abhijit," a beaming Sandip came on line when I picked up my mobile, and he continued:

After five months of dry spell, today I received a payment. How I survived during this period with no income is another story that I'd love to share with you some other time, but today is celebration time.

I have been working smart for last few months and the result is clealry visible: Confirmed business for next three months, including the current one, is close to what I did for the whole of last year.

Freedom of Expression on Social Media, But Legitimate!

I think the time has come to add the word 'Legitimate' before 'Freedom of Expression' as being one of the fundamental rights according to the constitution of our country. For that matter, why only India -- it must apply to every democratically run nation.

Social media has empowered every individual on planet earth to express his/her thoughts, ideas and take on every issues with no restrictions as to what is constructive, beneficial to the society and ' LEGITIMATE' Vs what is destructive, harmful to the society and ILLEGITIMATE.

How to 'Stand Out' in the Crowd of Relationship Network!

Instinctively, all species, including humans, longe for getting noticed by others through a better performance in the specific areas of interest.

Call it achievement or success, the fights are always on to move ahead of others up the ladder of social hierarchy in terms of recognition by the masses and subsequent acceptance as better than the rest.
