Freedom of Expression on Social Media, But Legitimate!

I think the time has come to add the word 'Legitimate' before 'Freedom of Expression' as being one of the fundamental rights according to the constitution of our country. For that matter, why only India -- it must apply to every democratically run nation.

Social media has empowered every individual on planet earth to express his/her thoughts, ideas and take on every issues with no restrictions as to what is constructive, beneficial to the society and ' LEGITIMATE' Vs what is destructive, harmful to the society and ILLEGITIMATE.

"Freedom of expression" is a fundamental right for every citizen in a democratically run country but, at the same time, it must be for the right reason and purpose, falling within the framework of a society which is driven by positive thoughts and actions.

Several thousand years ago, the basic framework of the society was renovated by our visionary ancestors to ensure a smooth transition of the ancient civilization to a knowledge based modern existence: An existence, where people care for each other; an existence, where people help each other; and an existence, where people live live and die for others.

The existence of the God is justified by that of the Demon; however, under any circumstances we must never allow the Demon to take over the God. And that's  possible, only when we have a mechanism in place that filters the good out of bad and highlight the same across the length and breadth of the society.

So far it's been through positive upbringing at micro and macro level of the family and the community; however, with an ever-increasing influence of social media it has become more relevant to re-invent the rules of the society. How to achieve it, is a billion dollar question that needs an immediate answer for our own benefits!
