Hey God, Let Me be Her Son, Again!

Mother and Child Reunion

I don’t blame my father for putting up with my maternal grandfather, who was staying alone, as his only son - a MRCP Doctor from UK - was settled in a distant place and it was not possible for him to relocate to native place.

Rapists Must be Hanged Until Death!

What are the rules of a so called human society, pertaining to the punishment framed out by the constitution of a democratic set up, for dealing with criminals who undertake the shameless and barbaric act of raping the woman?

The answer is very simple: Law Enforcement agencies would catch the culprit/s, sometime, and try him/them out through a well-defined set of legal proceeding extending over several years. Often, accused are set free because of lack of evidence.Even if convicted, they would come out of the jail after a few years and.....

Driving on the Highway of Life!

It's been 3 months, since I stopped writing. All I do, these days, is to pick up an article that I had written long ago - part of a whopping 300 articles written over a period of 3 years - and republish the same.

There seems to be a kind of blockhead in my brain, a strange feeling of emptiness, surrounding the whole existence that defines my own, telling me what I hate to acknowledge: I'm finished as a writer!

Never Let 'HOPE' Vanish from Your Life!

Hold onto IT!

Don't let IT slip away from your life, even if its sharp corner is piercing through your flesh, digging deeper and deeper inside your bones.

Learn to endure unbearable pains, absorb unbelievable shocks and erase the slightest traces of tears from your eyes, but never let IT vanish from your mind.

The Power of Emotion!

Emotion, if expanded in the right direction and for the right cause, is the key to success in life. I'm not talking about the success of having retired as the CEO of a company but building your own and living it too.

I believe that emotion is the driving force that can truly inspire you to look beyond the realm of reality, and help you achieve the impossibles in life. I believe that positive emotion can help you overcome the burden of reality that common people are overburdened with.

Wake up the Sleeping Giant within!

Today I was watching a program on TV, reconstructing the survival story of three people who lost their direction while finishing off a remote island.

Frantically searching for their base, unsuccessfully though, they exhausted boat's fuel and with great difficulties somehow managed to reach a rocky and isolated part of the island.

Preview: Life And Thoughts of A Warrior -- The Path of Fire!

Read the Preview of my latest E-book, which has been published on Amazon Kindle store, and click on the following link to buy and download it from Amazon website: Life And Thoughts of A Warrior.

Life And Thoughts of A Warrior

Every time, the black clouds of pains gathered across my mind, I would write an article, flushing the agonies out of my system and breathing in fresh air of hopes for a better future, inspiring self for keeping the fights on.

Those notes, written over a period of 3 years - those 3 years of unbelievable fight against destiny's torture - highlight my helplessness and also the determination. Hundreds of them, truly reflecting, what I had gone through, are now being edited to come out as a book.

If my story of pains, agonies and the determination to refuse giving up can save even a single soul from succumbing to life's struggle, I would be the happiest person on planet earth.

Social Intelligence: Key to Success for HR Professionals

He called up and desperately, requesting me to look for an immediate placement for him as he has already been serving the notice period. He is the same person whom I have been repeatedly calling up for past several months, but in vein. He never bothered to pick up my calls, neither called back. Simply put, he refused to maintain a decade old relationship while riding the success wave.

Another professional, who would always give me an appointment, but would refuse to meet at the last moment , not once but several times, demonstrates a weird behavior that needs detailed analysis to identify the root cause of such an irrational approach. Ideally, when you're not interested to meet someone, the best way is to let him know it outright instead of agreeing first and then aborting it at the last moment.

Never Stop Trying to be Extraordinary!

What is extra-ordinary-ship?

Is it something beyond the reach of ordinary people?

Not really! Because, most of the extraordinary people are basically ordinary and at some point in time, they, willingly, and supported by the pull of destiny, zoom past ordinary-ship.

What inspires them to undertake this journey and complete it successfully?

The answer is: A dream of making it big in life! However, never forget that it's not just about dreaming big, but a lot of result-oriented actions that ultimately govern the outcome in terms of turning a dream into reality.

Choice is yours!

If you're cornered today, it's your own making: A wrong decision, a wrong assumption, or no decision at all on a few important issues, that you had made several years ago.

You can still convert the consequences to your advantage, if you stop regretting over what's not changeable any more and focus on deriving the best out the worst possible situations.

If you can't, you deserve to be falling in love with fatal frustrations and failures that will eventually lead to a complete destruction of self and your near and dear ones who're dependent on you.

Choice is yours!

Get Me Some Food!

The other day, while doing some shopping, along with my family members, when a poor fellow asked me for some donation, I said, 'I wouldn't give you cash, what else you want?'

He looked at me and said, 'Sir, get me some food.'

I, then, took him to a near by Dhaba and bought a few rotis and sabji for him, and handed the same over.

He, with the packet in hand, started moving away quickly.

Perplexed, I asked him, 'why don't you eat your food here?' '

'My children first, Sir!' He replied and vanished, without waiting for my response.

Tears came to my eyes and I regretted not buying him another packet.

It cost me just 30 rupees, but, for him, it appeared to be another chance of seeing the smiling face of his hungry children.

How Criticism Inspired Me Perform Better!

More than 3 decades ago, I cleared my 12th board examination with 8 grace marks in English. Despite scoring pretty well in science subjects, which ultimately ensured my admission to an elite engineering college ( NIT, Nagpur), my overall grade in XIIth board was drastically down due this pathetic performance in English.

Frankly speaking, I had a great disliking for English during the formative years of life and never attempted to make any improvement even. I used to be so poor in spoken English, that, during my Engineering college days, I had always avoided mixing up with college-mates who were local Englishmen, I mean English speaking classmates.

Well, destiny had something else in mind for me. After passing out from the college, when I failed to write a job application in English, leading to a group of friends laughing at me in front of many others, I, for several hours, wept uncontrollably, but then, I decided to do something about it.

Don't Hide, Be Your True-Self

Like or don't like: Success in professional life is always evaluated in terms of your compensation, if you are an employee; and the turn-over of the company that you own, if you are an entrepreneur.

"Hey Abhijit, that guy got a new job with this much salary, why don't you get me something like that," is the most common dialogue in any conversation that I normally have with senior levels professionals from Corporate India.

A Volcanic Eruption of Corporate Ego!!!

First of all, let me thank those professional friends from Corporate India, who keep encouraging me to highlight some of the business issues pertaining to talent management.

I'm neither a seasoned writer nor a management expert, but my objective of writing these blogs is to share with my readers -- some of the issues, both in professional and personal domains of life, that truly deserve a brain-storming.

Yesterday, in the evening, while talking to the VP-HR of a multinational company, which has recently undergone a global restructuring, when I, unaware of the final structure, casually made a remark about his reporting matrix, he got extremely annoyed and told me to avoid making such statements without knowing the facts.

Inspirational Lie!

If there is a will, there is a way: A plain lie, it is, highly inspirational though. Accept or not, but at some point of time in your own life -- you too must have realized it.

I agree, inspirational quotes, particularly the above one, surely boost our moral to work hard toward achieving certain goals and objectives, but, we must also realize, that the net result is invariably influenced by a few other factors; most of them, beyond our control.

Detached Attachment!

A deep sense of attachment to every relationship and the activities we carry out, is the root cause of our unhappiness. I'm taking about emotional attachment, which is different than emotional commitment.

When you erase the sense of attachment from your mind and soul, expectations from efforts remain zero. When you do your Karma with no expectation, positive results make you happy but negative outcomes never affect your mental equilibrium.

Counter Loneliness!

Who isn't lonely, many may deny the fact though; who isn't lonely, even if surrounded by a hundred also?

In fact, we are lonely, as long as we deny the fact and do nothing about it.

The fact, however, is, that, we can come out of this loneliness when we start thinking about and acting on making others feel otherwise.

Fighting Spirit

Who doesn't struggle in life, but how successfully one endures destiny's torture up until making it happen is what truly reflects the fighting spirit.

Success is all about enduring the worst period of life, without changing your course. The deciding factor between success and failure is self confidence.

Is Your Organization System Driven? If not, Quit Immediately

The purpose of a system is to design the rules of the game, so as to ensure that the show must go on in accordance with a specific set of activities defined for a particular role in any organization.

In nutshell, it means, even if someone is on leave the work doesn't suffer, as the other person who takes over his place is guided by a well-defined set of procedures regarding all the activities pertaining to that role.

Destiny's Torture: Celebration Time!

"Hi Abhijit," a beaming Sandip came on line when I picked up my mobile, and he continued:

After five months of dry spell, today I received a payment. How I survived during this period with no income is another story that I'd love to share with you some other time, but today is celebration time.

I have been working smart for last few months and the result is clealry visible: Confirmed business for next three months, including the current one, is close to what I did for the whole of last year.

Freedom of Expression on Social Media, But Legitimate!

I think the time has come to add the word 'Legitimate' before 'Freedom of Expression' as being one of the fundamental rights according to the constitution of our country. For that matter, why only India -- it must apply to every democratically run nation.

Social media has empowered every individual on planet earth to express his/her thoughts, ideas and take on every issues with no restrictions as to what is constructive, beneficial to the society and ' LEGITIMATE' Vs what is destructive, harmful to the society and ILLEGITIMATE.

How to 'Stand Out' in the Crowd of Relationship Network!

Instinctively, all species, including humans, longe for getting noticed by others through a better performance in the specific areas of interest.

Call it achievement or success, the fights are always on to move ahead of others up the ladder of social hierarchy in terms of recognition by the masses and subsequent acceptance as better than the rest.

The Dark (K)Night Rises! Where is the Batman?

I am neither a writer nor a political observer, but what I have been watching for more than a year really sadden me beyond my capacity to recover completely.

The sudden demise of a great mass movement against corruption, in view of personal ambitions taking over the selfless desire to fight for a genuine cause, is perhaps one of most unfortunate incidents that I have observed in my life so far.

Power of Relationship: How My Dad Achieved the Impossible

It was truly an amazing incident that happened more than 2 decades ago: My Father, who was terminally ill with no chance of survival, recovered completely.

How it happened was perhaps more amazing: On the advice of her religious Guru, my Mother decided to give up on her most favorite fruit forever.

Never Be Indecisive in Any Situation

Using the power of decision gives you the capacity to get past any excuse to change any and every part of your life in an instant. # Tony Robbins

Reading Donald Trump's 'Think Big' would give you a clear idea about how ruthless is the world you live in, and what you should do to cultivate a mix of situation-specific ruthlessness and humility in decision-making for living an accomplished life.

Through-out your life, you must read the situations correctly and decide your stand eitherway: Ruthless or humble. Right approach would work it out in your favor and the wrong one would spoil it.

How to Land Your Dream Job: Befriend the Best Recruiters!

Flush out the Germs of Insensitivity from Your Life Ecosystem!

There must be at least one decisive reason: Why everyone doesn't become successful; why everyone doesn't become rich and famous; why everyone doesn't become popular.

So, what's that reason? Well, I think, it's lack of sensitivity in relationship management!

Wait for the Arrival of A Life Changing Dawn of Success!

When nothing goes right in your life, you'd notice unbelievable things happening: Dense black clouds of continuous failure, that you could never even dream of experiencing, would surround you from all direction, forcing you surrender to your helplessness and finally give up.

With every passing day, the clouds of failure will become more and more dense and menacingly black, reducing your visibility and mobility to zero. Most of us succumb to destiny's brutal torture at this point of time, but you shouldn't.

Think Big, and Work Hard to Achieve It

Not all saints are recognized by the world as achievers. It's a different issue that most of them are not actually running for it.

However, common people like you and me, who're yet to achieve the sainthood, do work hard to filter through the mesh of obstacles that holds the failures back from bursting into the realm of success. We want to make it big, really big, in life.

Destiny's Torture: The Lost World of Happiness!

Having gone through an amazingly successful period of life for little less than a decade, and then embracing an equally devastating period of failure for more than 3 years by now, I think, that, I have realized what can make humans happy in life.

I'm a common man with an average intelligence level, hence, I may be wrong while saying: Happiness is derived out of a feeling of nothingness, when you have no assets or liabilities to manage but your own spiritual self!

Master the Art of Recognition!

While talking to their sons over telephone, they would never fail to get all family members on line and inquire about their well-being. That would include, one of their grandchildren who was just 3 years old at that time.

Well, I'm highlighting an astonishing attitude of an elderly couple whom I had observed a few times -- talking to their near and dear ones.

The Power of 'Failing to Fail'

I'm sure, more often than not, you find yourself in a situation when all your sincere efforts to accomplish a goal produce no results. Frustrated, you wonder, what the hell is wrong with you and your mission and, ultimately, feel like giving up.

Yes, giving up is the easiest way to come back within your comfort zone, blaming destiny for aborting your life mission. All of us have gone through similar situations in life, and we know how difficult it is - not to give up.

But never forget, success is not only about performing against all odds but sustaining the mission when luck is deadly against you. If you can survive the worst time, in terms of sticking to your objective, sooner or later the situation will turn in favor and then you must go all out to make it happen.

Smart-Work: How to be A Little More Happy!

I don't know a single person who hasn't asked himself, at some point in time, about not getting enough return against his hard-work: Job, business or even in relationships, we feel that we are putting in our best effort to make it work, but the corresponding returns, in our opinion, are always much lower than our expectations.

Why it happens? Obviously, something goes wrong that we have no clue about. The mismatch between our effort and corresponding return is perhaps the main cause of unhappiness in every field of life. Can we do something to reduce the gap between the two? Yes we can, and by taking the following steps:

You're Born Extra-ordinary!

“Everything you see or hear or experience in any way at all is specific to you. You create a universe by perceiving it, so everything in the universe you perceive is specific to you.” – Douglas Adams

You're already an extra-ordinary person, because you're born extra-ordinary. But, unfortunately, you don't realize this fact and do nothing to take its advantage.

You can do wonders, but don't believe so; you're capable of making it big in life, however, you never believe in self; you are the reflection of your thought processes, but you never think that you're extra-ordinary.

Why You Must Live in the Moment

The world is ruthless! It neither remember your past achievements, nor go by future predictions. For the world, you're, what you stand today. If your past achievements don't carry forward any tangible benefits, you're conveniently forgotten and ignored as intangible liability.

If you're a crest-fallen professional, you're completely forgotten as if you had never existed. If you're hugely successful today, the world don't remember what your past was. You're always assessed on the basis of your current standing in social hierarchy.

Likings Never Die!

When you start liking someone, do you ever try to find out the reason behind: Why you like that person? No, you don't. Because, liking is the manifestation of a unique shade of your emotional existence and it doesn't follow a definite criteria.

Well, over a period of time, through mutual interactions, you may find that person to be quite different than what you initially thought about. Still, in all probability, you continue with your liking, because, frankly speaking, you don't know why you do so.

The degree of liking or emotional attachment that you develop with that person is mostly determined by your initial assessment of his/her personality and, in most of the cases, it doesn't undergo any major change even if things go wrong in course of time.

Be Open in Every Life Transaction

'If you have a good intention, sooner or later you'd become successful in life.' Said one of my creditors, whose money I returned a month after the due date but, during that period, never failed to return his call whenever he gave me a tinkle.

The fact that I didn't avoid him, even though I was unable to honor my commitment, was what inspired him to make this statement. My frank admission of the inability to stick to my words, for some compelling reasons though, happened to impress him a bit.

Destiny's Torture: God's Agent on Planet Earth!

Sandip has always tried to live, more for others than for himself. However, in that process, while trying to keep others happy, he, perhaps, even surrendered his own legitimate claims on a minimum happiness that humans need to remain emotionally alive.

It is true that he is physically alive but I could clearly make out that, emotionally he is almost dead. Because, he has donated his own share of happiness to his near and dear ones.

Well, he belongs to a rare breed of people who value others' happiness more than their own. They just give away, everything, and unconditionally, without any expectations of returns whatsoever.

True Friends Are Forever!

Nothing really matters in life than a positive response to a call made in distress to an old friend, whom you haven't met for more than a decade.

I don't know about your experience, but, in last few years, all the calls I made to my old friends - trust me, I must have made quite a few - were answered positively with genuine concern, making me realize that I'm not that unsuccessful in building and maintaining a few long term relationship.

No Fear, No Regret, Live Life King-Size!

My life is an open book, is what I believe in and follow too. What's wrong with it, as long as my self-respect remains intact?

Crying over the mistakes and smiling through the success are what make me comfortable, and I don't find anything wrong in sharing those moments with a few thousand.

Destiny's Torture: Giving Up is Never An Option!

After a long tine Sandip called up, and the gist of what he told me is as follows:

After a long time Sandip called up, and the gist of what he told me is as follows:

There was a time, when I used think that the success I had achieved would remain with me, and forever; nothing could take it away. But, I was wrong!

Today, while struggling to rebuild my business from ground level, I have realized that being complacent with my achievement was the biggest mistake of my life and I have no option but to pay the price.

Success: Being in the Spotlight?

What is meant by success? Is there an universal definition of success? Can we pin point, yes, reaching that particular milestone is called success?

For an animal, primary success is all about being alive: For a predator, success means achieving the daunting task of killing her prey for the next meal; for a prey, success is the manifestation of her ability to stay away from those killers on daily basis.

Talent Management: Why is HR Failing to be Proactive?

Hey Recruiter, you must know that your priority will never match that of your clients; however, if something goes wrong, you would be held responsible for what you have no idea about.

That's what, is, perhaps the darker side of an amazing - love and hate - relationship between a recruiter and her clients.

Is Luck Factor, Only A Myth?

Some people, who are the normal delivery of FORTUNE, proudly decline the role that luck must have played in shaping up their destiny.

They claim that, it's their hard work and a perfect planning that have contributed to making it happen in life.

They may be right, or wrong. But, I must ask my readers:

1. Is it only our efforts and and planning - independent of luck - that make us successful in life?

2. Doesn't luck play any role in making it happen in life?

3. Is luck factor, only a myth and has no practical relevance?

4. Can we produce the best results through hard-work and dedication, even if the luck is deadly against us?

Please share your own life experience in that regard - not just theoretical assumptions and hypocritical demonstrations - and make a clean statement either in favor or against.

How to Design A Recruiter Friendly Resume

Most of the recruiters, who are hard pressed for time for delivering results to their internal and external clients, never look at any Resume for more than a couple of seconds to dig out the information relevant to the assignment under consideration.

So, while designing a Resume, the first and most important thing for you is to make relevant information visible to the recruiters and within those few seconds.

Being a recruiter for more than a decade and half, some of the strategies coming to my mind are:

If An Animal Could Defy the Law of Nature, Why Can't You?

Lion hunt- the lion gives chase to zebra, part 4, Serengeti, Tanzania, Africa

When you are down in life, like a prey in the battle field of Masai Mara, with a pride of human lions targeting you for their next meal, don't run away from them but charge against them without fear.

Several episodes that I have watched on 'Animal Planet' channel, depicting some unbelievable real life developments, highlight an amazing beyond-just-survival power that turns the prey into a predator.

An Amazing Story of Leadership Connectivity

If you're not able to connect with key people in your professional circle, emotionally, I don't think you would ever make it happen as a leader. And that's exactly what I just discussed over phone with HR Head of a large Indian corporate -- and he agreed.

By connectivity, I mean, building emotional connection with professionals in your domain of operation: Team members, Suppliers, Service Providers, and keep them sufficiently motivated to maintain and improve upon their current performance level.

Make Others Feel Comfortable!

Today, during a meeting with the Director HR of a highly reputed MNC, when I tried to grab the business from another firm which has been enjoying the MFR (Most Favored Recruiter) status for a long time, he cut me short by saying that his comfort level with them in terms of performance is unquestionably reliable.

The Tsunami of Success

It was 2 O'Clock in the morning and I was still in the factory, leading a team of a few dozen engineers,  supervisors and workers to execute an order, which, if not completed by the dawn's early light, would attract a huge penalty, in addition to a distinct possibility of being blacklisted, by one of the biggest customers of the company.

The factory being located in a remote place, had an adjoining  full-fledged residential colony, and the top leadership including managers and most of the supervisors and workers used to stay inside the premises.
