How to Design A Recruiter Friendly Resume

Most of the recruiters, who are hard pressed for time for delivering results to their internal and external clients, never look at any Resume for more than a couple of seconds to dig out the information relevant to the assignment under consideration.

So, while designing a Resume, the first and most important thing for you is to make relevant information visible to the recruiters and within those few seconds.

Being a recruiter for more than a decade and half, some of the strategies coming to my mind are:

If An Animal Could Defy the Law of Nature, Why Can't You?

Lion hunt- the lion gives chase to zebra, part 4, Serengeti, Tanzania, Africa

When you are down in life, like a prey in the battle field of Masai Mara, with a pride of human lions targeting you for their next meal, don't run away from them but charge against them without fear.

Several episodes that I have watched on 'Animal Planet' channel, depicting some unbelievable real life developments, highlight an amazing beyond-just-survival power that turns the prey into a predator.

An Amazing Story of Leadership Connectivity

If you're not able to connect with key people in your professional circle, emotionally, I don't think you would ever make it happen as a leader. And that's exactly what I just discussed over phone with HR Head of a large Indian corporate -- and he agreed.

By connectivity, I mean, building emotional connection with professionals in your domain of operation: Team members, Suppliers, Service Providers, and keep them sufficiently motivated to maintain and improve upon their current performance level.

Make Others Feel Comfortable!

Today, during a meeting with the Director HR of a highly reputed MNC, when I tried to grab the business from another firm which has been enjoying the MFR (Most Favored Recruiter) status for a long time, he cut me short by saying that his comfort level with them in terms of performance is unquestionably reliable.

The Tsunami of Success

It was 2 O'Clock in the morning and I was still in the factory, leading a team of a few dozen engineers,  supervisors and workers to execute an order, which, if not completed by the dawn's early light, would attract a huge penalty, in addition to a distinct possibility of being blacklisted, by one of the biggest customers of the company.

The factory being located in a remote place, had an adjoining  full-fledged residential colony, and the top leadership including managers and most of the supervisors and workers used to stay inside the premises.

Be A Leader, Not A Ruler!

Scientifically, yes; but conventionally, no -- the path that the sound of your voice would travel: All directions. Nothing, including the sound of your voice, travel in all direction but downward. Everything, that you produce, goes down -- digest it or not!

While spreading a - positive or negative - message: People would listen to you only when you stand above them; people would laugh at you, when you stand on the ground and try to make them understand a point.

You know why?

Come out of the Domain of Duality!

All of us are living a dual life, full of contradictions, pretending to be virgin innocents in public and acting otherwise in private. We falsely show the world how committed we are towards maintaining the sanctity of human values, but....

Why Didn't They Give Me A Single Chance to Explain?

A year ago, when the MD of a growing company - whom I serviced for more than 8 years - sacked me from the association of identifying senior level candidates for his organization without any warning, it was a painful surprise for me because I'd never expected it to happen at all -- and in such a ruthless way.

A few months ago, when a wonderful person I met on facebook and with whom I got much closer than even my real-life friends - and shared a few secrets that I had never disclosed to anyone so far - abandoned me like removing a fly from the milk-pot, I was completely shaken because it was truly unbelievable.

Why I Sacrificed the Virtual Self!

Sorry friends, for changing my blog's address. Frankly speaking, the reason is very simple: I don't have a credit card any longer, required to renew the domain through U.S. based domain provider GoDaddy.

So, I shifted this blog to another domain, that I had purchased from a local service provider a few months ago with cash.

You must be wondering, why did I get rid of my credit cards?

Right?

Why the Hell You Give It up in Life, So Easily?

I don't know, how many of you watch this amazing program on Discovery Channel: "I Shouldn't be Alive."

It highlights some of the deadliest survival stories in the history of mankind, that one can't even dream of in dream.

The program recreates the struggle for survival of a few super human who, defying the verdict of destiny for embracing death, managed to make a come back -- because they failed to give up, when it was the most inevitable option.

Change Agent: Are You the Right Choice?

The top leadership of every growing company are mesmerized with an idea of bringing on board a magician, who would bring about a much desired cultural change in their organization.

For them, money is not an issue for getting the best available talent. So, they pay hugely, quite often unreasonably, to pull the best reputed change agent in.

Recruiters: Fishing from the Same Ponds!

With the advent and epidemic spread of job portals, the business of Executive Search in Contingency vertical has now boiled down to a set of Recruiters fishing candidates from the same ponds.

The only difference from real life fishing, in this case, is, that most of the fishes are very smart and they would invariably respond very positively to every fisherman, never sharing if another fisherman has already contacted them for the same buyer, inspiring him to submit their details to prospective buyers.

How to be Rich and Famous: Protect Your Self-Respect!

What's the key to a huge success in life? If you ask, even a million, this question, there wouldn't be another answer than: Risk taking ability. Right?

Sorry, wrong! It's not the risk taking ability but, more than that, the ability to endure its consequence -- is the key to success.

Never Ignore Your Ground Level Connections

Yesterday I received a call from a professional, whom I had successfully placed as CEO with one of our clients a couple of years ago. He said, due to some organizational conflicts, he had to resign from the current assignment and now he is desperately looking for a suitable opportunity.

"No issue, it's my job and I would try my best to identify a good opening for you."I said.
