Since morning I've called him up several times on his mobile, and every time he would disconnect.
No, no, I'm not offended, because I've learned to "control my expectations without affecting the actions,' but this incident is a startling reminder of -- how casually we treat our relationships: Be it personal, or professional.
Frankly speaking, none likes rejection, in any transaction. Well, rejection is inevitable most the time and we have no option but to accept and probably forget; however, the skeleton of those moments, remains, buried in our brain.
What efforts it requires to put our Cellphone in silent mode?
Hardly, a couple of seconds!
Then why, we forget to activate it, and when, during an important meeting, the phone suddenly starts ringing creating an embarrassing situation -- we're left with no option but to disconnect the call.
Remember, effective relationship management hugely depends on our ability to successfully handle such small issues, that, most of us, utterly fail to recognize.
So, next time, when you're about to be engaged in a meeting, please don't forget to either switch-off your mobile phone or put it on silent mode -- may be, you wouldn't make, someone, little sad!
