Should Organizations Scrap Performance Reviews

During my corporate stint, more than a decade and half ago, I remember how we used to hate yearly performance review exercise.

Some of the reasons I could recollect now are:

1. A strong belief, that more than performance it is the relationship with immediate boss that matters.

2. An assumption, that credit for some of the good work that we have done would directly be claimed by the boss himself.

Things have dramatically changed since then but what's still the same, is employees disliking for annual performance review.

I just read an article on the viability of this management exercise for linking reward with performance - highlighting a few analysis as well as case studies - and sure that you would like it.

Read this post "Should Performance Reviews Be Fired?" on Wharton Knowledge website and share your take on this issue.
