Why Grass Always Look Greener on the Other Side of the River?

That's a question I don't think even God would be able answer to the best of anyone's satisfaction.

Who doesn't think: What I do, is the worst; what he does, is the best; I'm sure that I can do that, but situation doesn't permit.

What a dilemma?

Sorry, it's never a dilemma but a consolation to satisfy our sense of inability to take risk and try out what the majority attempted, but failed!

This thought came to my mind when I met the VP-HR of a large organization today, for the first time.

Surprisingly, he opened the discussion with a question: Hi, as an entrepreneur, you must have already made a few million dollar.

That's what the perception of people about entrepreneurship - it's just about making money, nothing else - who're still continuing with working for the benefits of others: Their employers!

Having worked with large Indian corporates for 14 years and slightly more than a decade into entrepreneurship, who knows better than me -- about the pains and agonies associated with the game of entrepreneurial adventure.

The struggle for survival first, and then is the struggle for achieving the objectives!

Who would explain to them, people like him, that entrepreneurship is not just about making money but living a life free of shackles?

And, it's not as easy as it appears; otherwise, everyone, leaving their jobs, would have jumped into it!

Well, let me share with you a simple wisdom: Never forget what really matters is not the color of grass but availability; it doesn't really matter which side of the river you are in, as long as you have enough of the digestible grass to make you survive.

However, if you're looking for something beyond just living -- have the guts to jump into the river and cross it over to the other side: Greener!

You can, for that matter anyone can, provided you have the courage and determination to make it happen, and more importantly -- a 'never give up on hope' attitude!
