I was born and brought up in a remote place in Assam, bordering erstwhile East Pakistan, surrounded from all sides by so called minorities.

Despite belonging to the majority community, we were practically the minority there. I'm talking about the period, when Bangladesh was yet to born.

My best friend, from Mumbai, called up. He was sounding worried and said,' Abhi, why haven't you phoned me for last few weeks?' I had no answer!

Then I realized, I was so busy with my virtual life friends on FB and WhatsApp that I forgot how important is a real life friend, who understands me and cares for me despite all my shortcomings and always remembers me.

I believe, every individual has at least one ability, much stronger than that in others, that can catalyze the process of being immensely recognized.

Written a year and half ago, while negotiating through destiny's torture!

Despite being a failure, practically, in every domain of life, I still feel there is an element of hope that I must hang onto. Why I think so; why don't I give up; why don't I accept the defeat and let life move peacefully out of my control -- is a puzzle, that I'm still trying to work out.

I never thought twice before helping others; I never let self-interest takes precedence over that of those I love and care for; I never tried to live and prosper at the cost of others' happiness.

'Wrong number!' A SMS on my mobile's screen was blinking at me . It was a reply to a few SMSs I had sent to the owner MD of a large company - an hour before - in order to find out why he was not responding to me for last couple of days.

To rule out the possibility of any communication issue, I called up his secretary who reconfirmed the number as valid. So, the SMS was as real as its content, telling me bluntly," Abhijit, you are now completely cut-off from a decade old business relationship." A relationship, that begun when he was not so big and I was not so small.

I know a mother - a strong personality, both as a parent and also as a social worker - who gave up a flourishing political career, because, an astrologer, on whom she had tremendous faith, told her that she would make it to the top in politics but at the cost of her children.

She didn't hesitate for a moment to quit politics and focus on her children's future!

In Search of Truth!

We are not necessarily meant to be, what we are today. But, if we are not meant to be what we are today, like or not, be assured, that success will always elude us.

What we are meant to be, however, is defined by our genetics and first 5 years of up-bringing; most of us, unfortunately, never realize this fact and end up doing what we are not supposed to do and blame destiny for our failure.

Well, I'm still searching for this truth: What I'm good at. You too do some introspection and come to a conclusion!

What Martin Luther King Jr. had said: "I have a dream," is what you too must tell yourself. Because, Unless you have a dream of making it big in life, you can never make it a reality.

A dream of making it happen in life is what most of us experience in dream, either during sleep or while being awake in exceptional cases, but we never work on that dream to make it a reality.
