Why We Must Clearly Differentiate between Ego and Pride!

I observe, notice and sometime highlight through blogs: both efficiencies and deficiencies of mine and that of others as well who're on my radar!

And one of the most disappointing observations is: despite belonging to a single origin we're so different than each other; however, one common factor that forms the foundation of our deficiency is an inflated Ego!

Some of the best young performers I came across during my corporate career a decade ago have now completely vanished from the scene, leaving behind a trail of inspiring memories.

It had happened, not because they slowed down in terms performance but their efficiency got eroded by a pseudo satisfaction which was triggered by an inflated ego.

Unfortunately, most of us are into a rat race of proving that we are far more efficient than the rest in terms of achieving better results: financially, or intellectually, or may be both.

However, we fail to realize that the result of our efficiency is determined by other active members in our domain of operation. More we feel complacent less we treat people with respect, marking the beginning of an end.

So the biggest challenge for efficient people is to isolate their ego from pride to remain efficient! History confirms, that very few normally have the right frame of mind for successfully practicing it in real life: differentiating between ego and pride.

However, those who can achieve it, become the iconic profiles -- and the rests silently hit the grave.

What's your take? Are you successfully differentiating between pride and ego-self? Please, share your opinion through comment box.
