To Be Happy, Behave Like A Sports Person!

Happiness is the most sought-after goal for all of us; however, there seems to be a lot of confusion over what happiness in life actually means!

Everyone knows that happiness is a state of mind, but what more you need to know is -- how to attain that state of mind that makes you happy.

Well, having gone through the roller-coaster drive of life - several times - suffering a series of unexpected set-backs and also achieving a lot more than what I truly deserve, I've realized:

Life is similar to a set of different games that you keep playing: on daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis. Some you win, and the rest you lose. However, there are a few basic rules of these games which you must follow for getting better results -- and those are:

1. Put in your best efforts, but be ready to accept the worst performance and work hard to improve upon.

2. Celebrate victory, but don't forget to analyze the defeat for helping you learn a few new lessons.

3. Don't compare your performance with that of others, but only to yourself and keep acquiring new skills.

I know these are difficult suggestion. However, you need to understand that the root cause of happiness lies in the difference between your expectations and achievements.

And the only way to avoid being unhappy is to look at life from a sport-person's point of view: master the art of gracefully accepting the result of today's game- win or loss- and shift your focus to the next.
