You are Known By the Company You Keep

The world is full of people who are out there to get you pin down: Irrespective of whether you are going through a downturn in life or riding over the waves of success -- because they enjoy doing so.

However, at the same time, there are a many who don't hesitate to go out of the way to make you comfortable when you're passing through the worst period in life and remain genuinely faithful to you when you become successful.

To achieve success and also remain successful in life, you must have the ability to accurately predict who belongs to which category. The implications of a wrong assessment could be devastating for you, if your stake in that relationship is above the average.

I have indicated through some of my previous articles: We are still living in a jungle, where, for most, the desire to dominate takes precedence over everything else. The bottom line is: Kill or get killed.

By killing, I mean killing the competitors mentally, so that they are able to reduce the degree of threats from other persons. Anybody, having a dozen plus work experience with corporates, would surely understand what I'm highlighting here.

I know it's extremely difficult to accurately analyze and predict the real nature of an individual, but you must sharpen your instincts for coming to a realistic conclusion.

Instinct is primarily governed by your subconscious judgements about the other person and, if used correctly, it can save you from quite a few relationship/career disaster.

In any kind of relationship, You must always keep looking for people who have a positive frame of mind and are, by nature, helpful. And, undoubtedly, you must identify the types, who are full of negativity, and get out of your association with them.

Remember the proverb: You are known by the company you keep. Its significance and interpretation is very simple: When you are surrounded by scoundrels -- you have no option but to become one!
