Do You Take Your Life Seriously?

How many times you have heard this proverb - from how many people - who, trying to inspire others, would say: "Don't worry, be happy?" Several, times and people; I'm sure!

Sounds nice, and quite soothing as well, when a caring voice delivers such reassuring sentence. But often, this, instead of helping you get out of trouble -- may push you more into it.

Worry, you must, but in a positive way. And you can positively worry, only when you take your life seriously.

Taking life seriously means, preparing yourself  for fearlessly facing every life situation. It's highly unlikely that you'd come out victorious all the time; in fact, you're likely to face a crushing defeat most the time. However, win or loss, what matters most, is, how serious are you as far as the preparation is concerned.

Today, while talking to a senior professional from corporate India - who had recently attended a job interview with a fortune 500 MNC through me - when I appreciated his degree of preparation before the final event, he replied to me in a cool voice:

"Abhijit, if I don't take my life - and every associated developments - seriously, does living, just for the sake of living, make any sense?"

His attitude of taking every life developments seriously, and making the best preparation to help him come out as a winner, highlights a rare quality which is invariably found in every successful people: they do worry, but positively; worry drives them to take their life seriously and equip themselves with the best obtainable knowledge.
